The following are the current vacancies available at different works of the Jesuits in Britain.

St Beuno’s Jesuit Spirituality Centre is a large residential retreat house set in an area of outstanding natural beauty.  The St Beuno’s team offers a full programme of retreats and courses, especially the Spiritual Exercises, individually guided retreats, courses and training. 

Deputy Director

We are seeking to appoint a Deputy Director who will be a member of the Management Team.  The Deputy Director will work with the Director and Assistant Director and work in the management and leadership of the retreat house.  The principle area of responsibility will be the operational running of the programme of retreats and courses.  In addition to management responsibilities, the Deputy Director will be a spiritual director who contributes to the retreats and courses, and will work on some of the training courses.  There will be opportunities for further training and development. 

The main place of employment is St Beuno’s but, as we also deliver retreats and training throughout the British Province of the Jesuits, travel away from St Beuno’s will be part of the work.  This could be a residential position. 

Salary:   £36,500

Spirituality Team Member

We also wish to recruit a team member to help deliver our extensive programme of retreats and training.  The role will involve directing on the Ignatian Individually Guided Retreats, working on training programmes and duties involved with the general running of the centre, along with additional identified responsibilities.  These responsibilities would be dependent on the applicant’s skills and experience, and will be drawn from one of the following areas: training; teams coordination; programme management; social media and website management; supervision and coordination of CPD.

The main place of employment is St Beuno’s but the team also delivers retreats and training throughout the British Province of the Jesuits, so some travel away from St Beuno’s will be part of the work.

Salary: £25,700 - £28,230 depending on experience

Oxford University Catholic Chaplaincy

Assistant Chaplain 

The Oxford University chaplaincy team provide Catholic ministry to the students of the University of Oxford through a full and varied programme of liturgy, spiritual development and outreach.

We are currently seeking to appoint an Assistant Chaplain with experience of ministry and an ability to engage with students and staff in the support of their spiritual development.

Hours of work: 40 hours per week for 40 weeks per annum with on-site accommodation
