Faith Primary School wins Liverpool Echo Award

Faith Primary School, the Joint Church Primary School served and supported by Saint Francis Xavier’s Church in Liverpool has just received the Liverpool Echo Award of ‘Primary School of the Year 2019’

This is tremendous news and a great achievement considering the difficult changes and the need of a support network being put into place just a few years ago.

There are ten categories for the Echo School Awards, from one for the best class/team of the year and school support staff to head teacher, to school communication and a healthy living award. The one dedicated to the Best Primary School is given to who “in the opinion of the judges have had an outstanding academic year. This may be improvements in attendance levels, parent engagement or examination results” as the description reads on Echo’s website.

All staff, governors and pupils collectively stated when receiving the award “We were in competition with hundreds of other primary schools across Merseyside. However, the judges could not ignore the huge successes of the school over the past two years. Our improvements do not finish here. We have phenomenal plans to continue to develop the school into a magical haven for learning for all children and families in the Everton area of Liverpool!”

Pastoral Assistant at SFX Church, Debbie Reynolds, who has pastoral, community and ecumenical links with the Primary School said “It’s a great recognition for all those who have worked so hard in ensuring that all are ‘Loving and Learning in the Light of the Lord’, which is the School Mission Statement.  It’s also important that we across the whole community ‘accompany these children n the creation of a hope-filled future!’ (Universal Apostolic Preferences).  I’m very proud that SFX Church alongside St Peter’s C of E Church has this partnership with the school.”
