Contemplative Life on Bardsey Island / Ynys Enlli
Bardsey Island / Ynys Enlli, two miles off the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales, was the site of monastic life for a thousand years before the Reformation, and has been strongly associated with pilgrimage, retreats and the contemplative life throughout its history up to the present day. The Bardsey Island Trust is keen to ensure the continuation of this tradition of contemplative spirituality on the island. The Trust is therefore offering subsidised simple accommodation in the second half of September 2021 to someone wanting to explore or deepen their experience of the solitary contemplative life.
For further information about the island, please visit the website of the Bardsey Island Trust at www.bardsey.org.
For further details of this opportunity, and advice on how to apply, please contact Revd Canon Robert Townsend, Chair of the Spirituality Committee of the Bardsey Island Trust (email@example.com).
