Eastern Christian Tradition in the World Today
Dialogues, Ecumenism, Theology and Ecclesiology
The conference will seek to engage with the various modern and contemporary challenges and contexts that the Eastern Christian tradition confronts today. Speakers will address the situation of Christianity in the Middle East; Ecumenical relations between the Eastern and Western churches; the Eastern Catholic churches - the question of mission and ecclesial identity; Armenian and Syriac Christian traditions.
The Conference will also be an occasion to celebrate the recent publication of Christianity in North Africa and West Asia (Edinburgh: University Press, 2018) with special panel sessions that will include the Editors and several of the contributors who are associated with The Centre for Eastern Christianity, Heythrop College, University of London.
