Inigo opens tonight

Following a the sell-out run to rapturous audiences in Kennington earlier this year, INIGO by Jonathan Moore opens tonight for a second London run in a larger theatre. The new venue is the 180 seat Pleasance Theatre in Islington and tickets are on sale now.

As well as being a parishioner at Farm St Church, Moore is a theatre and opera director and writer with many credits in prestigious theatres around the world.  The premiere of Iñigo sold out very quickly so this is a great opportunity for all those who couldn't get a ticket to see it and for those who wanted to see it again but couldn't get in. It is only a limited run to 13th June so book now to avoid disappointment.

Fayez Bakhsh (above right) will be repeating his acclaimed performance in the title role.  He will be joined by two other members of the original cast plus five new cast members.

Since his first retreat at St Beuno's back in the 1980s Moore has been deeply influenced by Ignatian spirituality and fascinated by St Ignatius himself.  He was encouraged to write the play by Fr Billy Hewett SJ, and has received regular support from him and other Jesuits over the last four years.  The result is a very carefully researched life story which tenderly explores the deeper recesses of St Ignatius’ spiritual journey.

“All of the audience seemed enthralled ... a great evening of thoughtful and dynamic theatre.”  Mark Lawson

“The intelligence of the production, and especially the vitality and versatility of the performances make for a moving, stimulating and enjoyable experience. The dynamism and structure of the play, the art with which Jonathan Moore makes Ignatius accessible to us, capturing much of the drama of the Spiritual Exercises themselves, would also make ‘Iñigo’ an excellent discovery for schools and colleges."
James Hanvey SJ, Master of Campion Hall  Thinkingfaith.org

"Condensing a life so full of internal struggle, complex relationships and momentous incident into two hours of drama is an astonishing achievement. Jonathan Moore has honed the story with skill and passion and also a good measure of humour."
Jane Hellings,  Jesuits and Friends
