Cuthbert McGinity SJ became an army chaplain shortly after his ordination in 1916. He served in northern Italy 1917-1918 and died of exposure just after the armistice.
Peter Claver is the patron of human rights in Colombia. A Spanish Jesuit missionary priest who devoted his apostolic life ministering to African slaves in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia), one of the ports in South America used for slave trading.
Peter became a Jesuit in 1988. He was parish priest of Sacred Heart Edinburgh, before moving to St Ignatius Stamford Hill where was parish priest 2006-2014. He is now on the parish team at St Wilfrid's Preston.
Cornelius spent ten years in secret ministry in England before being arrested and executed for high treason with four lay companions in 1594. He was beatified in 1929.
