Living the Gospel Today – In the Way of St Francis of Assisi

Saturday 31 May, 11 am - 4 pm, with Brian Purfield. Finding freedom in simplicity and voluntary poverty, living in harmony with creation, seeking to be a brother to everyone and everything – so much of the teaching of St Francis of Assisi (pictured) directly challenges the values of today’s consumer-driven culture, providing a radical, liberating alternative. His way of life, the vita evangelica, or gospel living, is both challenging and assuring. This workshop is aimed at people already interested in the teaching of St Francis as well as those whose explorations have extended no further than singing “All Creatures of Our God and King” – a version of Francis’ “Canticle of the Creatures”.
