Nine Minute Novena| Day 7

Stonyhurst College
Stonyhurst College

As we approach the Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola on 31st July, please join us in praying a novena over these next 9 days from each of our Jesuit parishes in England and Scotland.

Today's novena comes from St Peter's & St Joseph's Church in Stonyhurst. Fran is one of the parishioners and the Caritas representative for the parish:

"We're asked to be missionary disciples and reach out to the community as a whole... we have supported the Hummingbird Project which has seen us welcome and support a Syrian refugee family and they're happily settled now, and as we step back they become more integrated. We also do lots of fundraising for the services that Caritas support... we welcome together people from all religions and none and we do this by inviting people to our fundraisers and we support them with our lunches and our get togethers because thankfully in this beautiful rural area we don't see homelessness as an issue but people may be lonely or isolated and so we reach out to people who are in need in that respect."

A novena is an ancient devotion consisting of 9 days of prayer - often in preparation for a feast day or for a specific intention. Click on the link below to watch the full novena.
