Novena to St Ignatius of Loyola: Celebrating the Feast of St Ignatius
Over the past nine days we have travelled on pilgrimage around the country visiting each of our parishes in turn. Today, on his feast, we visit the church dedicated to St Ignatius in Stamford Hill, London. Jesuit Scholastic, Christopher Brolly, had this to say:
"Our last day of this Novena is a day for which to be thankful. Spending time in thanksgiving together is not just the perfect way to bring this Novena to a close, it's also the perfect way to celebrate the patron saint of this parish and of the Jesuits, St Ignatius of Loyola. Now, the Internet and mobile phones, they didn't exist in St Ignatius' time, but I think if he was living with us today I think he would definitely be a person who was powered by 5G, or should I say the 5Gs - Gratitude, Generosity, and all for the Greater Glory of God. So, let's take a few moments together to reflect on gratitude and generosity as we come to the end of this Novena..."
A novena is an ancient devotion consisting of 9 days of prayer - often in preparation for a feast day or for a specific intention. Click on the link below to watch the full novena.
