Old Aloysian to Give London Fashion Week a Tartan Twist
Barbra Kolasinski, an artistic OA who is completing a Master’s degree in Fashion Design and Technology has been selected to present a fashion collection at Graduate Fashion Week in London and has highlighted the role St Aloysius' College played in finding her true calling.
Barbra graduated from St Aloysius’ College in 2007 and went on to pursue her passion for creative design by applying to study Fashion at the Edinburgh College of Art and then Fashion Design and Technology at the London College of Fashion.
During her time at St Aloysius’ College, Barbra excelled in sport as well as art. The Aloysian represented Scotland in both High Jump and Hockey and had initially planned on pursuing a career in PE Teaching before discovering her creative side during Higher and Advanced Higher Art classes in S5 and S6.
Reflecting on the years when she discovered her love of design, Barbra said “It was 5th year in school when I started to really enjoy art that I found a side of creativity I didn’t know I had… it was then in 6th year that I made a determined effort to get my portfolio together and apply for art school”.
