Pray as you go is 'appy to announce...!
Pray as you go is pleased to announce the launch of a dedicated mobile app for both Android and iOS devices. PAYG started eight years ago, and now with 60,000 users per month, in 180 countries for the English language version alone (it is also available in six other languages). Pray as you go is launching this app as a new development of its ministry, allowing smart phone and tablet users easier access to material from the Pray as you go website.
The app allows users to go straight to the day’s reflection, set a one-off or daily reminder for their daily prayer time, and access the breathing and body exercises, examen prayers, and Stations of the Cross and Rosary reflections, all from their mobile device, without having to access the Pray as you go website.
When Pray as you go first launched, the downloading of files to a computer and transferring them across to a mobile device was more common; but now, with the changes in mobile technology, an app is the best way for users on mobile and tablet devices to access the reflections and resources from Pray as you go. Our app for android will be released today, with the iOS app following in the coming weeks.
Pray as you go is a daily prayer session, designed for use on portable MP3 players, to help you pray whenever you find time, but particularly whilst travelling to and from work, study, etc. A new prayer session is produced every day of the working week and one session for the weekend. It is not a 'Thought for the Day', a sermon or a bible-study, but rather a framework for your own prayer.
Lasting between ten and 13 minutes, it combines music, scripture and some questions for reflection. It is produced by Jesuit Media Initiatives, with material written by a number of Jesuits, both in Britain and further afield, and other experts in the spirituality of St Ignatius of Loyola.
