A Prayer Space for Remembrance
Jesuits fund prayer space at ecumenical school
Faith Primary School in Liverpool is an ecumenical school supported by St Peter’s (Church of England) and Saint Francis Xavier’s (Roman Catholic), which is served by the Society of Jesus.
The school recently applied to the Jesuit Fund for Social Justice to be able to develop a prayer space at the entrance of the school where Christian values and Collective Worship topics can be seen and shared. The successful application enabled the work to be completed and now provides a welcome, clear-glass area for individual and small group reflection, as well as gathering for prayer as the school did for Remembrance Day.
It is hoped that an official opening of the prayer room will be able to be planned for once Covid-related restrictions are lifted, but for the moment this beautiful shared space is being enjoyed and celebrated by everyone in the school.
