Sponsored Walk for 'Hope for Southall Street Homeless'
Please support our team from St Anselm’s!
St Anselm’s Southall parishioners Henriques Siqueira and Jan Janoszka will be joining a group of Spanish pilgrims on an overnight walk from Our Lady of Bellvidge Jesuit parish near Barcelona to the Benedictine Abbey at Our Lady of Montserrat this weekend. The trail is 54 km or 33 miles and will start at around 7:00pm on Friday 26th, hoping to reach their destination Saturday morning around 10:00am.
Henriques and Jan are taking up this challenge to raise much-needed funds for the homeless shelter at St Anselm’s and Holy Trinity. “Hope for Southall Street Homeless” (HSSH) builds trusting and positive relationships with vulnerable rough sleepers and helps them to transform their lives.
Please sponsor Henriques and Jan in their efforts, whatever donation you choose to make in cash or by cheque payable to “HSSH” will go directly to the Charity: “HSSH” – Hope for Southall Street Homeless Transforming Lives, Restoring Hope. Registered Charity No 1164647

Street homelessness is the most visible and challenging expression of housing need and social exclusion in Southall. HSSH is a local charity that has developed from the desire of the Southall community to take responsibility and do more for those who find themselves homeless and sleeping on the streets in our midst.
Work began in January 2016 through the opening of the Southall Winter Night Shelter, providing a rolling night shelter for local rough sleepers who have been referred by the Ealing Outreach Team and who are willing to engage in an active way with the support services offered.
