Nine Minute Novena | Day 3

As we approach the Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola on 31st July, please join us in praying a novena over these next 9 days from each of our Jesuit parishes in England and Scotland.

Today's Novena comes from Corpus Christi in Boscombe, a vibrant parish on the Dorset coast which is home to prayer groups, music groups and choirs, as well as a Jesuit community of retired priests and brothers. It is also home to The Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Sister Margaret Scott ACI speaks fondly of this:

"We the sisters, the handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, arrived in Corpus Christi parish in the early 1970s and we were delighted to be in a Jesuit parish because we are Ignatian women. We inherited Ignatian spirituality as a non-negotiable dimension of our identity from the very beginning of our institute. Continually shaped and nourished by the spiritual exercises of St Ignatius, we talk Ignatian, sharing basic Ignatian insights, and we walk Ignatian, putting those insights into action, both in our lives and in our ministry."
