MAGIS-metro is a weekly event for young adults, 18 to 35, offered by Jesuit Young Adult Ministries. It takes place in the CANA room (basement) of the London Jesuit Centre in Mayfair. It follows a monthly pattern:
1st Thursday – An evening of spirituality & prayer; using the tools of Ignatian spirituality to deepen our friendship with the Lord. Part of the programme will include a short period of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Martyr’s Chapel of the London Jesuit Centre. Refreshments from 6.30pm
2nd Thursday – ‘CANA talks’: informal and relaxed presentations & discussions around a contemporary issue or theme. Food and refreshments available from 6.30pm in the Cana room with presentations beginning at around 7.10pm. It runs until 8.45pm.
3rd Thursday - Film & Pizza from 6.30pm in the Cana room. Contact yam@jesuit.org.uk for the name of the next film
4th Thursday – ‘Unlocking Scripture’. An evening exploring the scriptures, often with the help of a biblical scholar or specialist. From 6.30pm. We provide wine and soft drinks but please bring something to eat and share.
5th Thursday (if and when..) –An evening of fun and board games
This residential course is intended to help participants grow in their capacity to offer Ignatian spiritual direction in different contexts. The course recognises that spiritual direction in the Ignatian tradition is discerning, dynamic and personal.
